JERICHO SAVED!

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING DONATIONS

Our Stars and Stripes program is clearly not generating the level of financial support that we need to make a commitment today (print ad would have been due today). I truly believe that this was/is a good avenue for our campaign, but we are not going to be able to reach our goal at this point because there simply is not enough time left!

What I want to propose is this:

1. That we cancel the S & S print ad, but proceed with an ad on the Stripes.Com website. Amy has done a mock up of what this ad would look like - you can check it out:

...this would cost us $20/m impressions or 2 cents each. They require a minimum purchase of 20,000 impressions or $500. We would get paced at the top of the square ads on the right side of the page - currently occupied by Pentagon Federal Credit Union.

2. That we channel the rest of the money collected for Stars and Stripes to the internet ad fund to continue with the Google Adwords, banners as well as other options currently being explored. We would have to ask the Stars and Stripes donors directly (I will e-mail) if this is ok.

3. That we focus advertising fund-raising on the internet campaign unless one of the other proposals that other members are working on appear viable. I would change the PayPal link to reflect that the donation is for the Save Jericho Paid Advertising Fund and not directly linked to one specific project.

4. That the residual funds from the Variety/Hollywood Reporter campaign be added to the Save Jericho Paid Advertising Fund.

Please provide feedback as soon as possible.

Why Nuts? In the season finale, the lead character, Jake (Skeet Ulrich) recounts a story his grandfather told him about a statement made by General McAuliffe during WWII. In this tale, when asked to surrender by the Germans he simply replied "Nuts" as a way of saying "We will NOT surrender - Go to Hell!"

Hey CBS Ad

Save Jericho!
On May 16th, 2007, CBS made the monumentally fatal error in judgement and cancelled what had been one of it’s best new shows for 2006-2007... Jericho.

But Jericho fans reacted...
Immediately upon cancellation, many of us decided to embark on a mission to let CBS know what we think... That they had underestimated the show’s fans... and that due only to its own decision to put the show on haitus for 2 months mid-season, to programming mistakes and a poor marketing strategy did the ratings drop.

It’s time we as the public start making ourselves heard, and letting the networks know that we are tired of the same old lazy reality show format. We want good writing, we want in-depth character development, we want shows that make us think and give us something interesting to discuss with our families.

We want Jericho BACK!
